I'm very happy with 7 x64 and have no desiree to move to Windows 10, does anyone know how to avoid the windows 10 junk that is now coming up on Windows Updates, so far i have been able to avoid the junk (well no icon in corner etc) but who know knowing MS that may well put something through one day as "critical" and get me that way

Problem with getting any updates
Now I fired up my old Toshiba laptop this afternoon as I am using it again tomorrow after a break - and to save some download on my mobile modem tried downloading updates at home.

Clean install of Windows 7 x86 on Asus laptop hangs on Windows Update
I've been attempting to get Windows 7 up and running on my Asus F8Sp-X1 laptop for a couple of days now. It came with Vista, which only lasted as long as it took to take the disk image with True Image, after which XP was installed. Hi, can someone please help me troubleshoot this PC so I can update windows? It hasn't been updated since January of 2014. I am helping my sister update her PC as she does not have access to the internet where she lives.

Win 7 refuses to update.
I have rebuilt my older windows 7 PC for my father to replace his aging XP system, and reinstalled windows 7from scratch.
I installed from a DVD , that I burned from the ISO file downloaded from microsoft, mainly to speed things up by not having to install SP1 as well. Install went fine, installed in approx 15mins.

Hi Experts,
After MS Office 2007 update KB2596787 failed I found some HD problems with chkdsk. I believe there are some corrupted system files. I wonder if some kind soul could advise how to repair i.e. which specific files and where to get them from?

Applying Updates Not Applying
Will the SURT tool work on remote machines? I ask because I don't see failure messages on machines I patch with WMIC or using DISM. What I DO find is that 500+ machines do NOT have the MS15-046 patch (3054834) after I have applied it, 3 times now, over the past week with reboots of the machines.
