Hello. For quite some time (will be month or so) I'm having problems with Windows Update. On the list I have 4 updates pending, but when I try to install them I'm getting error msg 800B0100 and 80073712. Below I provide 3 screenshots from Windows Update window (I'm running Win7Pro 64x) http://i.imgur.com/ydtliSY.png http://i.imgur.com/TaV6ZtP.png http://i.imgur.com/v1KeEcv.png I found...

Hello. I can't check for Windows 7 Updates. I get an error saying that the service isn't running, even when it is (I checked services.msc). I tried running SURT, but I get an error 0xc8000247. I tried sfc /scannow, didn't work. CBS logs are attached. Thanks.

I have had no luck installing 64 bit Windows,(see ACHI blocking installation in INSTALLATION AND SETUP) so reverting to 32 bit is less bother than continuing. The only new hardware that might have caused problems, the new ssd has been eliminated by a successful loading of Mint 17.1. During one of the aborted loads I got as far as activating the 64 bit. I still have the hdd with the original 32...

Windows needs re-activation after installing SOFTWARE ..?! REALLY..?!

I think my Windows Ultimate 64-bit is cursed... It nearly seems as tho EVERY time I install something a bit 'chunky' (.. or like today. a 'repair' of previously installed software... such as my effort today to 'repair' Roxio 2012, for instance..), I get the accursed notice that "..Windows has detected a hardware change and must be re-activated.." *REALLY?!.*. I've had the same computer...

Hello everyone. One "important" 88 kb update ('KB3010788') simply will not install, no matter what I do. The resulting error = '800B0100'. This seems to be a common problem, but none of the posted solutions work for me. I've run "scandisk/chdsk" (no errors found), I've run the "checksur" utility, I've applied MS hotfix (Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64 ??)

Just over a month ago I did a clean install of windows on my laptop because it was really slowing down. All went fine except for a couple of windows update problems which I fixed and it was back to being fast again. Anyway today I turned it on and it said my windows was not genuine so I went to the activation tab and it said that my product key had never been properly activated which is a bit...

Hey guys, I am new here so also please let me know if I am posting in the wrong section or I need to provide more/different info to my post - thanks! Here is the situation. I had some pesky malware on my PC, and at the same time, was going to add a new 3TB hard drive to my PC (as a 2nd drive). Since the new 2nd drive was going to have me making a lot of changes to my systems setup anyways,...

Manually installing updates - where to place files?

I do a lot of Win 7 installs, and the update process on a fresh install is a bit painful. So I downloaded all the current Win 7 updates (roughly 6GB) from the Windows Update Catalog and what I want to do is place them in the proper place (folder) so Windows Update will see them and install them. Otherwise it looks like I have to install each one separately, which saves on bandwidth usage...

In today's set of Windows 7 updates there is the above KB that corrupts system files - at least in my system. I immediately noticed that my Magnifier .exe was dead and it also mucked around with my Rocket Dock. When you run the updates, you better deselect or hide that one.

My problem is similar to others that hve been posted in this forum. "Windows is not genuine" message, extremely slow in normal mode (task times went from seconds to minutes). _History_ Java had not been updated. Did that and then started getting the above message. Ran virus scans and removed some virus files from java folders using MS Security Essentials, Kasperky, Malware Bytes. I had to run...

EDIT: This is not the PC in my profile. Its a Dell w/ an i7 and a WD 2Gb HD. More details upon request. Working on a PC from a friend. He put a new HD in and restored the system from an image and now it will not update. This seems to be a fairly common problem. Image restore + new hd = fail. Updates says it's not running as a service, but it is. There are *no* other errors. BITS...

Just discovered that almost all my Win 7 automatic updates have failed since November. I get an 800706f7 (unknown error) message. The last successful one was Windows Defender 915597 on November 11. The next one -- Win7 x64 update KB3008627 -- failed, as did most other automatic updates. I did notice that a few subsequent updates did go through for Malicious Software Removal tool, security...
