Any other method to download update that checks already installed ones

I have tried WSUS and find that it doesn't check what updates are already installed in my system. In any case it is for transfering updates to other offline systems. It is not useful to get new updates for my current pc. I have tried WUD also, and find that it neither checks for already installed updates, nor does it keeps track of updates that have already been downloaded by WUD itself. so,...
