Can't use Microsoft Fix-it Center, 'Input string not correct'

Hi, I can sign on the 'Microsoft Fix-it Center' but when I click on one of the trouble shoot boxes, a pop-up shows _"Input string was not in a correct format"_ Problem is that I didn't key anything, just clicked on the 'download' option spot. Does the same when trying to update a 'Microsoft Security package' which was an Automatic update that says FAILED. Anybody have this problem lately ??...
