I am getting an update error 80070643

Also 2 net framework updates. I downloaded the first net framework update and tried to install, and I got a pop up telling me that "this update is not applicable to your computer". So why then does it appear as an important update? This appears to be a Microsoft screw up.

SP1 not installing on Win7 home x64 . Error: 800B0100
Well, I've seen this is a most common issue in this forum so I'm asking for help to get the SP1 running. I had always put it off but now I have a new replacement battery and the system is not detecting it and I'm suspicious it is the SP1 not being installed what is causing the problem.

I recently upgraded my hard disk and operating system to Windows 7 Professional from XP Professional that was orignally on my Lenovo T61p Think Pad.
The Windows as purchased from Micro Center was an OEM system builder pack.

Windows Update not running. Error Code 0xc8000247 when running SURT
Please help me out - I replaced my defective HDD with a new Samsung Spinpoint HDD, re-installed my Windows 7 image using the recovery DVDs, and can't update windows at all after that. I tried following the steps from Windows Update Posting Instructions - System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and could not install that update either - got the attached message.

It used to be that everything was checked by default when I opened that page but this time the 3 for .NET weren't checked but they're 'Recommended'. ????

Last update prevents Windows from loading-is this pretty normal?
It has finally happened to my third Windows 7 computer.
I start it up in the morning and am met with an hour glass because Windows did not load completely. I've had enough experience lately that I know to not panic but to go into safe mode and remove the last update, reboot and all is fine.
Don't remember this ever happening with XP but is it fairly normal for Windows 7?

how am I supposed to install 132 update if it takes a year to do so
Just F9-ed my system for clean install (twice today for CS) and then- as always- the ordeal of installing a hugh bunch of updates... first check for updates and bang: 132 with a total of 452 meg. I know from previous installations it takes ridiculously long if not forever to get them installed without the risk of failed updates.

Need help, sp1 will not install possibly due to autochk.exe corruption
ok, i have tried everything i have found on the web with no success. when installing sp1 i get the error code 800f080d. i did the SCANNOW in cmd.exe as the admin, opened up the log file and it showed that the autochk.exe file was corrupted. the corrupted file was in the 3 locations sys32, wow64 and the other location i cant remember off hand. i do not have the installation cd as i was running...
