the latest windows update cannot be removed

Caused various problems.
Try several previous dates in system restore but each one fails.
Any ideas?

The last 2 Updates, I haven't gotten the Pop-ups?
I've run Virus/Rootkit scans, Troubleshooter. chkdisk, sfc /scannow , and no problems?
The Updates don't install until I manually "View Installed Updates/OK"/ Reboot.

In December 2018, when doing several updates via Windows Update on my W7 Pro x64, one update has failed and it was "security monthly quality rollup". I decided to wait one month for a next revision of this, but after that I still got an error. It's 80073701 for "2018-01 security monthly quality rollup" (KB4480970).

Bad updates to Windows 7.
I have two times used the recovery option in the windows 7 boot dvd and chosen system restore. When i have installed some updates my computer only restarts and restarts after installing some updates, and i don't know which one it is, When i did it the last time it was one of 11 updates. I got SP1.

How long is "Too Long" for Win 7 Update?
About one hour and 20 min ago, I shutdown my Win 7 64 bit system because I had one update pending. Of course, it says "Do not power off or unplug your machine."
So, how much longer should I wait?
And then what should I do? Power off by pushing the Start button for 5 sec, or

Have Turned Off Automatic Updates
After September 2018 patch Tuesday, I turned off my automatic updating after hearing some caused more problems than they solved. Of course, now I will not know which patches after that will be deemed "critical". I tried looking that up at Microsoft's Web site, but they do not indicate this. Have I missed anything? Solved MS Office 2007 SP3 update fails, error code 57E.
Recently upgraded to Office 2007, All other updates are successful except SP3 which fails repeatedly.
Downloaded SP3 still fails to install.
